Monterey, California: Fun and Food Adventure

When you have a free weekend and hope to have a great time, why not take a drive down to Monterey, California? The coastal region has a lot of sights for you to see and experience. In fact, here are a few sweet spots that you can visit and enjoy:

Point Lobos State Reserve

Located near Carmel, the Point Lobos State Reserve provides any nature lover a lot to see. Granite cliffs hanging above a turquoise sea are just one of the striking sights of the place. Caves and ponds are other examples. The marine life in the area is also a draw; sea lion, otters, and other animals make their home there.


The Monterey Bay Aquarium

For those who want to view marine life in more controlled conditions, the Monterey area boasts one of the best aquariums in the country. The Monterey Bay Aquarium has over 550 species on display in over 100 exhibits. Some highlights include the Kelp Forest, with its underwater forest of undersea plants, and the Jellies Experience, which is a vast collection of jellyfish species to astound you.

The Old Fisherman’s Wharf

Once you’ve traipsed all over the coast, it’s time to put up your feet and recharge with a delicious meal. There’s no better place than the Old Fishermen’s Wharf near Cannery Row. At Domenico’s On the Wharf, you can have a wonderful dining experience sampling fresh seafood like Red King Crab and Spot Prawns.
